Bill proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Basilone from 1956 until 1960, where he earned the Good Conduct Medal for his dedication and commitment to duty. His love for nature and wildlife was apparent, and he earned respect and admiration for his work. Following his time with the Wildlife Division, Bill dedicated another 25 years to serving veterans through his role at the Sandusky County VA, where he continued to advocate for those who served our country. Bill was also a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, further showcasing his commitment to serving his community and his dedication to his faith.
In 1970, Bill married Barbara Mehling in Bucyrus, Ohio, and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing.
