Vicki M. Van Ness

Gibsonburg- Victoria “Vicki” M. Van Ness, 71, passed away at Windsor Lane Care Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio on December 25, 2019. She was born on January 22, 1948 to parents Robert E. Pressler and Betty (Ottney) Pressler-Lanning of Gibsonburg.

Vicki was a 1966 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On Oct. 29, 1966, in Gibsonburg, she married the love of her life, Norman E. Van Ness Sr., who preceded her in death August 1, 2019.

Surviving are her children, Norman E. (Shannon) Van Ness Jr. of Gibsonburg and Amy J. Black of Springfield; grandchildren, Alexa Victoria Black; step-grandchildren, Nolan (Amber) Baum and Charlene Baum; step-great-grandchildren, Corey Baum, Ava Schoewe, Alivia Schoewe; brother, Robert (Nancy) Pressler II, and sisters, Judy (Robert) Girand and Mary (Chris) Vandersluis.

Vicki was also preceded in death by her parents.

Vicki and Norm enjoyed raising their children and supporting their many activities as they grew including sporting events, horse shows and family gatherings.  They enjoyed living in their country home and worked hard to make it a warm and welcoming place.  Vicki was an avid pool player and enjoyed competing in local leagues and tournaments.

In addition to being a homemaker, Vicki also worked in manufacturing and as an automotive parts manager for several local businesses.  Her friends were considered to be a part of her family and adventures with them were some of her greatest memories.

Those who knew her best understood that time spent with Vicki would always be fun, never be boring...and that if you were in need she would be there before you had the chance to ask for her help.

A Memorial Service will be held at Herman-Veh Funeral Home, 319 W Madison St., Gibsonburg, Ohio on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.  Visitation will begin at 10am with the service starting at 11am.  A lunch reception will follow.  Family and friends are invited to attend.
