Obituary

Tracy Rupke, 61, of Gibsonburg, passed away on June 25, 2026, surrounded by family at home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 20, 1964, to Stephen and Karen Rupke (Powell).

Tracy attended Woodmore High School and then later earned her degree in criminal justice from Terra community college. Tracy worked hard as the primary provider for her four children, then chose to stay home and help raise her three grandchildren. In her free time, Tracy enjoyed crocheting and playing pool. She was a member of Gibsonburg‘s Ladies Rack and Cue for 15 years where she won many pool tournaments and various awards. Most of all, Tracy loved being with her children and her grandchildren, often spending time in each other’s company playing card games.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Karen Powell of Gibsonburg; children, Bobby Whetsel of Gibsonburg, Jessica (Istvan Jr.) Nagy of Woodville, Reyna Rupke of Woodville, Dylan Tice of Napoleon; grandchildren, Istvan Nagy III, Sofia Nagy, Oliver Nagy; brother, Mike (Roanna) Rupke; sisters, Heather Villars and Niki Jones, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Stephen and Mary Rupke, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jacque Beaber; grandparents; Cathryn Rupke, Alvin Rupke, Lyle Brown and Mildred Brown; step-father, Larry Powell.

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
