Timothy “Tim” Richards, 43, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2026. He was born in Wooster, Ohio, to Mary Beth (Richards) Butzer on October 27, 1982. Tim was a 2001 graduate of Orrville High School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety and Occupational Health from The University of Findlay. He was currently a Global Safety Maturity Improvement Manager for PPG and was a co-chair academic advisor for the Environmental Safety and Occupational Health program at The University of Findlay.

On September 2, 2006, he married Jessica McDermitt at the Church of God in Findlay, and she survives.

Tim lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and a passion for adventure. He found joy in kayaking, exploring new destinations through travel, going to music festivals, cheering for his favorite soccer and F1 racing teams, birdwatching, and was a Disney fan. Above all, it was his family who brought him the greatest happiness. He took immense pride in attending his daughter Arrianna's sporting events, always rooting for her with unwavering support and enthusiasm.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jessica Richards; daughter, Arrianna Richards; siblings, Adam (Sarah) Butzer, Anthony (Brittany) Butzer; mother, Mary Beth Butzer; brother-in-law, Josh (Krista) McDermitt; nieces and nephews, Brody, Lucas, Elliana, Enzo, Amiah, Zamari; mother-in-law, Judy McDermitt; father-in-law, Mike (Kathie) McDermitt.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on October 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the First United Church of Christ, 1500 Tiffin Road, Fremont, OH, 43420. Friends and family are welcome to the church fellowship hall for a meal following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for Arrianna’s future education, c/o Jessica Richards.
