Thomas L. Walter, 84, of Fremont passed away on February 25, 2026. Born on October 4, 1941, he was a son to Kenneth and Laura (Karlovetz) Walter.
After graduating from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1960, he became a registered Machinest and Tool and Die Maker. Thomas embodied the values of hard work and dedicated many years at Whirlpool until retiring in 2008.
On May 22, 1965, he married the love of his life, Diane Fisher.
Thomas will be remembered for his love of organization. He liked to spend time washing and waxing cars whether it be his own or others, and he loved to keep an emaculate yard.
He was an avid fan of Ohio State Football. Thomas was also a former member of the Fremont Eagles and a member of Sacred Heart.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Diane; sons, Michael (Lisa) Walter and Mark (Allison) Walter all of Fremont; grandchildren, Bostyn, Georgia, Jenny, Jacob, Jordan and Jerzy; sisters-in-law, Mary Joe Ackerman, Pat McDonald, and Amy (Chuck) Getty; brother-in-law, James (Sharon) Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Walter.
Visitation for Thomas will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 10 AM-12 PM. His Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM followed by a Committal Service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Parkers Purpose or to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
