Thomas L. Bowes

Thomas Bowes, 66, of Fremont, passed away in Toledo on Feb. 8, 2022. He was born on April 8, 1955 in Fremont to the late Leo and Lois (Beith) Bowes.

Thomas was a 1973 Fremont Ross graduate. After high school, he began working at Martin Marietta. He continued to work there as he completed his bachelors degree from BGSU. After graduation, he found his calling as a teacher at Terra State Community College and at Northwest State, instructing several Industrial Electronics & Robotics classes through the years.

When he wasn't teaching, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also liked to sing and follow sports.

Surviving are his children, Jessica (Dan) Bowen of Viera, FL, Cory Bowes of Fremont, Ben Bowes of Woodville, and Braxton Bowes of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Brendan and Shelby Bowen; siblings, Larry (Thelma) Bowes of Caledonia, IL, Sue (Robert) Schick of Perrysburg, OH, and Jennifer Gottfried of Fremont, OH; and several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Lee Bowes; and brother-in-law, Don Gottfried.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17th from 4-7pm at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fremont Ross Alumni and Friends Scholarship  in honor of Thomas.
