Terrence F. Mosser

Terrence “Terry” F. Mosser, beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 87.

Terry was born on February 4, 1939, in Fremont, Ohio, to Kathryn and Ralph Mosser. He was the grandson of Louis A. Mosser, who emigrated from Strasbourg, France, in 1906 and later founded the Mosser Construction Company.

Terry was an accomplished student, athlete, and leader from an early age. He attended St. Joseph High School in Fremont, where he excelled in academics and athletics. He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, with minors in History and Political Science. Notre Dame remained a lifelong passion. Terry was an active member of the local Notre Dame Club and a devoted fan of the Fighting Irish, never wanting to miss watching Notre Dame football.

After graduating from Notre Dame, Terry served as a United States Army Intelligence Officer, ranked as a First Lieutenant, in Washington, D.C. His career went on to include public affairs, real estate, development, marketing, and business, taking him from Ohio and New York to Houston, Texas, where he ultimately served as Managing Director of Institutional Investors Consulting Corporation. His professional life was marked by leadership, service, and a lifelong interest in making a difference.

Terry carried the Fighting Irish spirit with him throughout his life. He was a man who never gave up, often reminding those around him, “There is always a way.” That determination, optimism, and faith in finding a path forward shaped the way he faced life’s challenges and encouraged others to do the same.

Terry’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church for more than 35 years, where he participated in many parish activities. He is especially remembered for his faithful service with the usher ministry, serving more than once as Head Usher. Terry helped grow the usher program by personally inviting others to participate. His warmth and welcoming personality made people feel comfortable and valued.

Terry was also a distinctive and memorable presence at St. Michael. Always impeccably dressed in a suit, he was known for his colorful shirts and wonderfully unusual ties. His style was unmistakably Terry—cheerful, confident, a little unconventional, and never afraid to stand out.

Perhaps more than his professional accomplishments, Terry will be remembered for the way he treated people.

Terry had a special ability to notice those around him and to make sure they knew they were noticed. He offered kindness, warmth, and gratitude in his everyday interactions and was remembered by many for the small acts of kindness he extended so freely.

Terry often said, “We were placed here to make the world better.” He believed those words and tried to live them every day. Whether welcoming someone at church, encouraging a friend, supporting a cause he believed in, or simply taking the time to acknowledge another person, Terry sought to leave people and the world a little better than he found them.

Terry also had a deep interest in medical research and devoted much of his later life to supporting efforts focused on improving health and quality of life for others.

Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Mosser and Ron’s wife, Teresa. He is survived by his sister, Rosanne “Rody” Hamen, and her husband, Mark, who remained a loving source of support and encouragement to Terry during the last several years of his life, even from a distance. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Whom he loved spending time with when he was home.

Terry will be remembered for his faith, his love of Notre Dame, his remarkable career, his welcoming spirit, and, most of all, his kindness. He believed that each of us has a responsibility to make the world better.

Terry lived that belief. And he made the world better simply by noticing people, welcoming them, and reminding them that they mattered.

A graveside service for Terry will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont beginning at 2:00pm, where military honors will be rendered.
