Tanya R. Wheatley

Tanya R. Wheatley, 68, of Fremont, passed away on May 1, 2021 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born in Fremont, Ohio on August 23, 1952 to Gene T. and Verna Rose (Nason) Womeldorff. Tanya was a 1970 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She worked for Johnsons Greenhouse for 8 years and was the Vice President of G W Contractors for 30 years. Tanya was also a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church. She married the love of her life, Paul L. Wheatley, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1994. Tanya had a talent for sewing and quilting, enjoyed reading and loved playing with her cats. She was always smiling and giving away hugs but loved to receive them in return just as much.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lynn (Robert) Moyer of Fremont, Ohio, nephews; Matthew (Kerri) Moyer, Mark (Ame) Moyer, great-nieces and nephews; Alyssa (Peter) Dennis, Blake (Hope) Moyer, Emily and Ethan Moyer, her group of best friends; Brenda Shearer, who was always there for her, Connie Barnes, her best sewing friend in all the world, sharing some fifty years of laughs and tears and much love, Jenny Gottfried, who was always ready with a helping hand, and Stephanie Singer, her companion for various vacations and trips to the movies and Red Lobster.

Memorial Services will be held by the family on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Old Fort United Methodist Church, 8245 Main Street, Old Fort, Ohio, 44861. Use of a mask and social distancing restrictions will be observed at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 1315 N. River Road, Fremont, Ohio, 43420, or to Old Fort United Methodist Church.
