Susan E. Strohl, 71, of Fremont passed away on Monday, September 26, 2023. She was born on October 25, 1951 in Toledo to Elmer and Barbara (Schmitz) Swartz.
She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1969. After high school, Susan remained an active part of the Fremont community. She dedicated 42 years filled with compassion for the patients and respect for her coworkers as a surgical technician at Fremont Memorial Hospital.
Susan was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She will be remembered not only for being a fan of the Bee Gees rhythmically soothing music, but also for her love of the band themselves. Susan also liked Monarch Butterflies and enjoyed spreading Milkweed to ensure their future habitat to the area. Many patrons of the Depot will remember her as a proud and enthusiastic fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Kerri (Matthew) Moyer and Shane (Angela) McConnell all of Fremont; grandchildren, Alyssa (Peter) Dennis, Bryce (Kelsey) McConnell, Blake (Hope) Moyer, and Grant McConnell; great-grandson, Samson Dennis; and siblings, Terry (Linda) Swartz and Karen (David) Griffith.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Mark Strohl.
Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. There will be an additional hour of visitation held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 2 beginning at 9:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM. Pastor Matthew Wheeler will officiate with committal services to be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to Stein Hospice.
