Sharon Marie Wargowsky, age, 81, an intensive care nurse educator, leader, and supervisor, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 in Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont, Ohio. She was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

Sharon was born on July 7, 1941 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Dr. Edwin Charles Swint and Mary Rita (Kearney) Swint.

Sharon was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph High School. After graduation, she attended the St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing and earned a diploma in nursing in 1962, going to work in the Intensive Care Unit at Fremont Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse then supervisor from 1986 until retirement in 2006. She was an educator and highly respected for her nursing skill and leadership abilities by the medical and nursing staff and the exceptional care she rendered to her patients. She was especially remembered by staff and patients for her wonderful sense of humor, calm expertise in critical situations, and expert clinical knowledge in support of medical, nursing, and ancillary staff in providing patient care.

She was beloved by her family, friends, and the many feline pets she nurtured through life.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Edwin and Mary Rita Swint. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Robert Swint (Katie), and sisters Kathleen, Mary Lou Rendon (Ray), Patricia Joslin (Richard), 3 nephews/spouses, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 9:30-11:30AM in the Sacred Heart Church Narthex preceding the Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Fremont Calvary Cemetery with the Nightingale Tribute for remembering a nurse.

Our thanks to Elmwood Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Directors and Staff, as well as Stein Hospice for their comfort care of Sharon.
