Rosemary "Toot" Foos, 86, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was born in Fremont, the daughter of Herman and Lucille (Mosser) Setzler. Toot was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph High School. On April 28, 1962, she married her best friend, Gerald "Jerry" Foos at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fremont.
Until the age of 24, Toot worked for Fleetwing as a bookkeeper. She later worked in St. Joseph Central Catholic High School's cafeteria from 1983-1997 and then for The Open Book.
She leaves a beautiful legacy to her community and family, and will always be referred to as the sweet "Ticket Lady" by a generation of students. She will be remembered for her volunteering at the American Red Cross and the food bank, helping at funeral luncheons, cleaning the church, and giving back to the community. As a family they shared many summers at their Sand Beach cottage, RWEKENFUN. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland Guardians and loved tending to her numerous flower gardens and enjoying their beauty. Rosemary taught her children a love for food and cooking. She leaves behind a legacy of her "mostly completed" recipes, as her children, grandchildren and friends alike continue trying to find the one or two missing ingredients....because literally no one makes it like grandma.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Jerry; children: Julie (Lee Witt) Rodriguez of Fremont, Tim Foos of Fremont, Joe (Jami) Foos of Perrysburg, Tony (Cori) Foos of Fremont, and Tom (Jaime) Foos of Sylvania; grandchildren: Josh (Cora), Cory (Ellie), Bailey (Kyle), Zeke, Jordyn, Jenna, Jacy, Savannah, Kate, Isabelle, Lilly, Peyton, Owen and Gavin; great-grandchildren: Henry and Alice; sister, Pat Golamb; brother, John (Nancy) Setzler; sister-in-law, Jeanette Setzler; and brother-in-law, Don Snyder all of Fremont; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sisters: Noreen Snyder and Kathleen (Louie) Foos; brother, Dick Setzler, and brother-in-law, Marion "John" Golamb.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North St., Fremont, with a Vigil to be held at 7 PM at the funeral home.
