Ronald Kane

Ronald F. Kane, 87, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born in Fremont on June 28, 1938 in Fremont a son to Walter and Leona (Detrick) Kane.

He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1956. Through the years, Ron worked various jobs in Fremont like Crown Battery, Servomation Vending and the Fremont Candy & Cigar Co. from where he retired.

Ron was an exceptional bowler, and had stayed on the Crown Battery Bowling League for many years even after his short time working for the company.

On July 2, 1960, Ron married Donna Hauck. Together they shared 62 years of marriage during which, many of their Summers were spent as a family at the Catawba Point Association. Ron also enjoyed boating on the Sandusky River and around the bay.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeffrey A. Kane and Martin L. (Robbie) Kane; grandchildren, Samantha Chavez, Abigail (Jacob) Adams, and Marlena (Nathanael) Wood; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Chavez, Jonah Chavez, Elyse Adams, Natalie Wood, and Lydia Wood.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna who passed on July 13, 2022; siblings, Marlene Naomi, Lamar, Delbert and Vernon.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 17th at 10:00 AM.

Donations in Ron's name may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Heartland Hospice.
