Robert L. Fought, 81, of Fremont, passed away June 7, 2023, at Elmwood Communities in Fremont. He was born August 20, 1941, in Fremont, Ohio, to LaVerne and Irene (Overmyer) Fought. Robert was a 1959 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On September 13, 1968, he married Donna Gnepper at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey, and she survives.

Robert was the 3^rd generation to operate the Fought Family farm, which started in 1913, raising cattle and later growing grain. Robert loved his farm as well as his International tractors which were his favorite color, red. When he wasn’t tending his farm, Robert could be found in his garden where he grew an array of vegetables, and spending time with his family. In addition to working on the farm, he worked in manufacturing at Whirlpool and retired in 2004. Robert was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Fought; children, Dianne K. Fought and Michael R. (Candice) Fought; grandsons, Robert and Jackson Fought; brother-in-law, Roy (Ginny) Gnepper of Laveen, AZ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Paul Andrew Palmer and sister, Delores Kirgis (Fought).

Visitation will be held June 12, 2023, from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Additional visiting will be held on Tuesday June 13, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187, CR 128, Fremont, OH, 43420, from 10:00AM until the start of funeral services at 11:00AM. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery. For those unable to attend, live-streaming of services will be available by following the link provided on his obituary page.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to PT Services Parkinson’s Group, checks to be made in c/o Leslie King, 1800 W. State Street, Fremont, OH, or to Faith Lutheran Church.
