Rita J. Wilhelm, 79, of Fremont passed away on February 12, 2022 at Bridge Hospice. She was born on July 4, 1942, in Fremont to the late Paul H. and Gertrude (Hanny) Stanfield.

Rita was a 1960 graduate of Gibsonburg High School before studying at Stautzenberger College to be a medical assistant.

She worked for WSOS for 27 1/2 years, retiring in January of 2001.

On December 30, 1961, she married Ralph Wilhelm, and shared 44 years together before his passing in 2006.

Rita was a giving soul who volunteered her time at St. Charles Hospital and was a member of Fremont Baptist Temple.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy Wilhelm of Fremont; and three grandchildren, Trey Wilhelm, Emily (Matt) Pittenger, and Jacob Wilhelm.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; and sister, Sharon K. Potts.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 3:30-6:30 PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg, with a funeral service following at 6:30 PM. Burial will be held at a later date.
