Richard “Dick” Williamson, 86, of Gibsonburg, passed away on August 4, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born March 10, 1940, to Clair and Dorothy (Jones) Williamson. Dick attended Gibsonburg High School and enlisted in the United States Army on May 28, 1958. He served during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge on May 27, 1960. On October 21, 1961, he married Linda Kutzli at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Helena, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his passing.
Dick was a hardworking man. Not only did he farm corn and soybeans, but he was a kiln burner for JE Baker Stone Quarry for many years before finally retiring in 1998. Never one to be idle, he enjoyed refurbishing Cushman scooters in his free time or taking truck rides with his dog, Spike, who was his pride and joy. During his final days under hospice care, he made many friends and gained a reputation as a jokester with the nurses, who in return, loved to remark on his blue eyes and how handsome he was. Dick was also an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Williamson; children, Scott (Nakia) Williamson, Michele (Tom) Kohler; grandchildren, Cassie (Jordan) Diekman, Chelsea (Andy) Schlagheck, Haeley (Justin) Tabbert, Jenni (Greg) Schalk, Nick (Teresa) Williamson and Dakota Kohler, Harlee (Mitch) Reese; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, John, Charlie and Roger Williamson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Jo Binder and siblings, Bill and Herb Williamson.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, from 1:00PM until 3:00PM and 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, Ohio, 43431. Funeral services will begin at 10:30AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 S. Brentwood Drive, Gibsonburg, Ohio. Burial with military honors will follow at West Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at hospice for their compassion and excellent care for both Dick and his family.
