Richard M. Fahle

June 26, 1951 — August 20, 2020

Richard Michael Fahle, 69, of Lindsey, Ohio passed away on August 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fremont on June 26th, 1951 to the late Donald H. and Mayre Anne (Kreilick) Fahle. He graduated in 1969 from Gibsonburg High School. He then attended several Community College courses involving machining and then later designing. He married Paula Ann Price on October 1st, 1971. He worked as a Design Engineer for the Fremont Special Machine Company along with several other local companies that serviced the automotive industry. He also worked as a Designer at  Covert Manufacturing in Galion, Ohio. Highlights of his work-life was when he traveled to Russia in 1976 to set up special machines and staying there for six weeks on-the-job. He also had one of his machine designs patented. He was knowledgeable in tooling and plastic molds. His hobbies included a great love of boating and fishing, collecting and refurbishing antiques, participating in Civil War events, hand carving wood items such as ducks, Santa Claus faces, Santa Claus figures, and farm animals. He loved baking and cooking. He loved crafting and building and was an all-around handyman. If it needed fixed he would figure out a way. After retiring at 62 years of age he began to raise Newfoundland dogs and started Poppy's Kettle Company. Surviving Richard is wife Paula, son Michael and his wife Kelly (Mott) Fahle and granddaughter Annemarie Fahle better known as Poppy's Princess. Also his brother Dennis L (Debra) Fahle of Gibsonburg and sister Carol(Scott) Heilman of Gibsonburg and nieces and nephews. Best friend and brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Lu Ann Brecheisen,Lindsey, David Price, Lindsey along with nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the south lawn  of  the Richard Fahle home at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 29th. Officiating will be Father Sean Templeton. Those who would like to attend are asked to bring your own lawn chairs so that appropriate social distancing can be attained. There will be several canopies and shade from trees in the ceremony area. Richard was loved by many so we ask that if you plan on attending to call or text 419-665-2418 so that we can prepare the area and the food to secure the safety of everyone involved. The family will direct a portion of memorials to the Civil War winter encampment that will be at the Hayes .Presidential Center in the fall and to the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department.
