Raymond “Ray” Paul Vogel, 81, of Fremont, passed away surrounded by family on July 4, 2024. He was born in New Riegel, Ohio, on June 17, 1943, to Paul and Edith (Earl) Vogel. Ray graduated from Hopewell-Louden in 1961. On July 3, 1965, he married Yvonne Linder in Fremont, and they just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Ray attended Ohio University, BGSU and The University of Toledo, earning a Masters in Secondary Administration. He taught math and science for the Sylvania Public Schools and Fremont City Schools, and taught math at Terra Tech College and Tiffin University. He retired from teaching in 1999. 

 Ray was a life member of the NEA, OEA, ORTA, served with SCORTA, the Lindsey Lions and Gideon’s Auxiliary. Ray was very involved with his church at Faith Lutheran, where he served as a member of Church Council, assisted with the Youth Group and played on the dart ball team. He was also very active with and was President of the Fremont Ross Music Boosters for many years. In his free time, Ray and Yvonne loved to play cards with their card club and travel. Their travels started with camping and grew into cruises and trips all over the country as well as over seas. They almost visited every state but they loved going to Nashville every year. Ray is also remembered for his love of mowing, and not only maintained his yard, but many others in the community.

 Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne Vogel; children, Dawn (Jeff) Cisco, Todd (Amy) Vogel, Ryan (Isabel) Vogel; siblings, Joanne Love, RuthAnn (Larry) Beidelschies, Carol (Dennis) Kimmel, Daryl Vogel; grandchildren, Kylie (Colton) Stewart, Cole and Bryn Cisco, Annika, Arika and Ava Vogel.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard Love.

 Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Additional visiting will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 CR 128, Fremont, OH, 43420. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM at the church. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate. For those unable to attend, live-streaming of his services will be available to watch on Ray’s obituary page by following the link provided.
