Randall E. Eppley

Randall E. Eppley, 73, of Lindsey passed away on July 30, 2022. He is finally free after a valiant 31-year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Randy was born on June 5, 1949 in Bucyrus, OH to Faythe (Yaussy) Eppley and Harold H. Eppley who survives with his wife Martha Yaussy. He married Linda (Fadley) Eppley on May 29, 1971 who was by his side until the end.

He is survived by children: Craig Eppley of Westerville, OH and Kristen (Paul) Lauer of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by his loving sister Cheryl (Eppley) Koehler of Wooster, OH, and Brother in Law Gary (Susan) Fadley of Gahanna, OH, and Sister in Law Melanie (Campbell) Daiber of Nevada, OH; along with many nieces and nephews.

Randy was blessed with 7 grandchildren whom he adored. Jack Eppley, Charlotte Eppley, Gabriella Eppley, Grace Lauer, Andrea Lauer, Lydia Huffman, and Annabel Huffman.

Randy graduated from Wynford High School in 1967 and was also a proud graduate of The Ohio State University College of Agriculture in 1972. He began his Agri-Science teaching career at Gibsonburg High School that year mentoring and shaping countless students over his 24-year tenure there. He retired from teaching at Anthony Wayne High School in 2002. Randy was proud to receive his honorary FFA American Farmer Degree and was also recognized as a Jennings Scholar.

Early in adulthood Randy served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. He was also a faithful member of Lindsey Trinity UM Church serving in roles of leadership and mentoring children in after school program. Randy was a passionate leader in shaping youth through the FFA and 4-H organizations. He enjoyed playing church league fast-pitch softball, dart ball, water volleyball, woodworking, and restoring classic tractors. He was a life-long fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Guardians.

Randy's celebration of life will be held at Creek Bend Farm Barn in Lindsey, OH (720 S Main St, Lindsey, OH 43442). Pastor Travis Montgomery will preside. Bring your memories and stories to celebrate his positive impact on our community. We look forward to seeing you there on August 19, 2022. Visitation from 9am-12pm followed by the funeral service.
