Rachel A Shearon

Rachel A. Shearon, 100, of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1926 in Hoytville, OH the daughter of Guy and Lela (Avery) Evinger. Rachel was a graduate of Hoytville High School and Flower Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to work as a registered nurse for Fremont Memorial Hospital. On May 1, 1948 she married Robert Shearon, he preceded her in death on August 19, 1994.

Rachel was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid quilter a member of the Hayes Ohio Star Quilt Guild and Quilts for kids.

Surviving are her children Patty (Roc) Standish; Dennis (Cindy) Shearon and Terry (Barb) Shearon all of Fremont; grandchildren: Amy Traver, Niki Standish, Casey Standish, Billy Shearon, Fred Shearon; great-grandchildren: Avery Traver, Harper Jo Traver, Sammy Standish, Noah Standish, Lily Standish, Ruby Standish, William Shearon and Isabel Shearon; sister Carolyn States of Colorado Springs, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, infant son Michael and brother Avery Evinger.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 4-7P.M. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH; vigil services will begin at 6:45P.M. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State Street, Fremont, OH. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
