Paul L. Marchant, 85, of Fremont passed away on February 28, 2023 at his daughter's home, with his family by his side. 

He was born on March 30, 1937 to the late Paul and Frances Myrtle (Colon) Marchant in Newton, MA. 

Paul went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960 where he served as a drill instructor. On April 6, 1957, he married Nancy Vipperman in San Antonio, TX, and shared 57 years together until her passing in 2014. 

Paul was an Eagle Scout, and enjoyed bird watching and traveling. He made it to 48 states, Kenya, and Australia throughout his life. He also loved spending time with his family, reading, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Paul was also a lifetime member of the NRA. 

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Paul (Reena) Marchant, Karen (Don) Egan, and Alan (Vickie) Marchant; siblings, Jim (Laura) Marchant, and Claire (John) Mears; sister-in-law, Dorraine; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; and siblings, Marie (Rick) Bechard, and Joseph Marchant. 

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12 from 1:00-6:00PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13 at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
