Paul A. Damschroder, 75, of Helena, passed away on July 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on June 22, 1951, in Fremont, to Glenn F. and Ruth (Gnepper) Damschroder.

Paul was a 1969 graduate of 
Gibsonburg High School. After graduation, he started working for an electrician and taking classes at Terra Community College. He was accepted into a four-year apprenticeship program with IBEW Local 8 of Toledo. He worked for 36 years as a proud union industrial electrician. At the end of his career, he retired from Sabroske Electric in Fremont. 

In 1978, Paul started building a cabin in the woods near Clymer, NY. He used this cabin for hunting and family vacations. Now, his children and grandchildren enjoying spending time at this cabin. Paul was an avid sportsman. He hunted, fished, trapped, and volunteered for many years as a Ohio Division of Wildlife safe hunting and trapping instructor. He felt most at peace when he was sitting in the woods listening to and watching the wildlife around him. 

Paul enjoyed downhill and cross country skiing, walking in the woods, raising chickens, and working with his hands. He was an active lifetime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg, a long-serving Helena Town Councilman, and dedicated Sandusky County 4-H Poultry Committee member. He lent decades of support to the Gibsonburg FFA and the Sandusky County Jr. Fair. 

Surviving are his children Carrie (Daniel) Chambers of Castle Rock, CO, Matthew (Katelyn) Damschroder of Brinkhaven, OH, and Anna (Timothy) Sirios of Roggen, CO; their mother, Diane Damschroder, of Helena; grandchildren Vivian, Lillian, William, and Irene Chambers, Ava and Brock Sirios, and Heidi Damschroder; and siblings James, Jane (Kevin Deils), and Gerald Damschroder. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Jividen.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 5-
7PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 1PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church, 500 S. Brentwood, Gibsonburg, OH. Synod Authorized Minister Hannah Mapus will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Sandusky County Jr. Fair or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg.
