Norman E. Kraak

Norman E. Kraak, 90, of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 29, 1935 to the late August and Grace (Friar) Kraak.

 Norm was a 1953 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On January 24, 1964, he married Mary Jane Atwood and together they have shared over 62 years of love and memories. 

Norm worked for Eckrich before moving on to Ford to work as a mechanic. He retired in 1997. 

Norm was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Fremont VFW. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and sharing folklore with his family. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Jane; children, Jody (Jay) Bower, Jon Kraak, and Joy (Chuck) Marsh; grandchildren, Nicholas Bower, Hailey Bower, Kenna Bower, Bradley Marsh, Damian (Whitney) Heminger, Scott Marsh, and Jacob Marsh; and great-grandchildren, Hazel and Braxton. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Grace; son, Bradley Kraak; and siblings, Charlotte (Nick) Turco, Shirley (Tom) Mullholland, Walter Kraak, and Myron (Diane) Kraak. 

Visitation for Norm will be held on Friday, March 27 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Herman-Karloetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont. A Memorial Service will follow visitation at 11:00AM, with military honors held at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norm's name may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
