Michael Lee Black, 70, of Gibsonburg passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was born in Ottuma, Iowa on June 24, 1955 to the late Rozena (Rater) and Billy Dean Black.
Mike was a professional truck driver for many years, retiring in 2012. He was a kind man with a big heart who loved to watch his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in their sporting events, dance recitals, cheerleading, and show choir. Mike was also an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
On September 24, 2004, he married Judy (Ickes), and she survives. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Devon (Jordan) Black; step-children, Jennifer Ickes and Clyde (Lindsay) Ickes; grandchildren, Hayden, Henzlee, Hollyn, Ali, and Elli; brother, Robert Black of Indiana; sisters, Linda Thaxton of Ohio, Mary Dudzik of Illinois, Candy (Pete) Hostettler of Florida, and Billie Jo (Runt) Icenhour of Georgia; sister-in-law, Rhonda of Georgia; multiple nieces and nephews; and many children who called him Grandpa.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Rozena; as well as brothers, John of Ohio and Gary of Georgia.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Tuesday, October 21 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, beginning at 11:00am at the funeral home with an hour of visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorial donations in Mike's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
