Melvin K. Baber

Melvin Keith Baber, 72, of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

He was born on August 1, 1949 to the late Melvin and Pauline (Layton) Baber in Summerlee, WV.

On December 22, 1970, he married Carmen Peraldo in Pearsiburg, VA, and shared 51 loving years together.

Melvin proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy and retired from the Ford Motor Company in 2020 as an electrician.

He was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Melvin had a soft spot for his pets, and found joy in going antiquing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carmen; children, Michael (Meghan) Baber, and Matthew (Tara) Baber; grandchildren, Aryca, Mikey, Kayleigh, Lauryn; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amanda, Victoria, Brittany, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Macy, Miana, Addison, Kaelynn, Jonathan, Michelle, Ellie & Koy; and siblings, Allen Baber and Callie Kettlewell.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society.
