Mary R. Carnicom

June 22, 1932 — February 23, 2022

Mary R. Carnicom, 89, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born June 22, 1932 in Fremont to Charles and Helen (Moneghan) Schmitz. Mary attended Fremont Ross High. On November 5, 1949 she married Richard "Bill" Carnicom at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Rev. Frederick Otto officiated.

Mary retired from Great Scot after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, cruises and especially cherished her time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her sons Rick (Nancy) Carnicom of Fremont; Chuck (Penny) Carnicom of Pompano Beach, FL; daughter Joni Preston of Fremont; grandchildren: Jerry (Gina) Preston, Jill (Kurt) Stevenson, Morgan (Michael) Walters; Derek (Marissa) Carnicom, Rikki Brown; great-grandchildren: Trevor and Allyson Brown, Hunter Stevenson, Kennedi and Karsyn Preston; Mallory, MayaJo and Maisie Walters; step-grandchildren Bradley Arnold, Courtney Lyons, Erica (Chris) Collins; great-granddaughter Adyson; great-grandsons Kayden and Carter Collins; sister-in-law Barbara Schmitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Jeanne Michael, Barbara Swartz, Chuck Schmitz, Ronnie Schmitz and son-in-law Jerry Preston.

 

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 11-1P.M. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 1P.M. officiated by Celebrant Jozie Hickman. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice.
