Martin J. Recny Jr.

Martin Joseph Recny Jr., 71 of Gibsonburg went to his new Eternal Home on September 24, 2026. 

Marty was born on June 1, 1955, in Fremont, Ohio to Martin Joseph Sr. and Phyllis Maxine (Johnson) Recny. 

He was a 1974 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. He was a member of Triumph Foundation Church in Fremont and worked on his family's farm where he enjoyed helping to take care of the cattle, and splitting firewood. Later in life, Marty enjoyed spending time with his family, and make sure he has his nightly ice cream.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Robin Cornell, Susan (Luke) Lawrence, and Mark (Viola) Recny; along with various nieces and nephews.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Sr. and Phyllis Recny; as well as his brothers, Michael and Robert Recny, and sister, Amy Evans.

Graveside services for Marty will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Hessville's Heavenly Cemetery on SR 600, where a time of visiting will be held from 10:30am-11:00, and memorial services will begin at 11:00am.
