Marian Cooley

Marian M. Cooley, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her Fremont home on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018.

Born in Toledo on Apr. 13, 1926, Marian was a daughter to the late Ova and Alta (Dotson) Long.  She graduated from Woodward High School in 1944 and went on to Nursing School at Flower Hospital.  As a nurse, she worked at Flower Hospital and with Dr. Fox at Community Health Care.

Marian was a long-time member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and sang with the church choir for fifty years.  She will be remembered for her love of singing and devoted care of her family.  

On Oct. 5, 1947, Marian married her husband of over 71 years, Carl D. Cooley in Toledo.  Carl survives.

Also surviving are children Randall (Judy) Cooley of Altoona, PA, Vicki Monroe of Okemos, MI and David (Sarah) Cooley of Eliot, ME; son-in-law Don (Karen) Wells of Minneapolis, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Marian is preceded in death by her daughter, Carla; and siblings Jack and Harriet.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 10:30 a.m., at the Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont where there will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Jody Rice will officiate. Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont.
