Margaret A. Smith

July 20, 1928 — January 27, 2019

Margaret A. Smith, born July 20, 1928 in Sandusky Township to Robert F. and Pearl (Kiser) Smith. She moved to Lindsey, Ohio in 1931. She graduated from grade school in 1942 and Fremont Ross High School in 1946. Margaret worked seven years for Arrow Cutlery. She retired from Quikut in 1985 after thirty-two years of employment as payroll/personnel manager. She loved to work in the yard and garden growing roses, traveling, crocheting, and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claribel Smith; brother, Vernell Smith; and step mother, Lucy Smith.

She is survived by a step sister, Eileen Rogers of Lindsey; a special cousin and caregiver, Lorilee Gilbert of Fremont; special “nieces and nephews,” Eric Gilbert of Columbus, Jennifer (Mark) Long of Findlay, Morgan Gilbert of Stanley, North Carolina, Jordan Long of Orlando, FL, and Kirsten Long of Columbus. She is also survived by nieces, Sharon Neifer and Karen (Steve) Oberst of Lindsey.

In Lieu of her wishes for a Graveside Service, a Committal Service will take place at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont on Wed., Jan. 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be privately held at Lindsey Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice.
