Marcella A. Kirwen, 94 of Gibsonburg passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.  She was born on July 12, 1929 to the late Celestine and Rebecca (Herman) Dolweck. 

A 1947 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Marcella went on work for Reino Linen as a laborer and secretary for 30 years as she raised her 11 children. 

On May 21, 1952, she married Donald Kirwen at Saint Michael Catholic Church. 

Marcella was a faithful member of Saint Michael Catholic Church in Gibsonburg, where she volunteered much of her time including part of its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, baking, watching Ohio State sports, and attending her childrens' and grandchildrens' sporting events. 

Surviving are her children, Donald M. (Jan) of Gibsonburg, Thomas (Deb) of Helena, Brenda (Peter) Norton of Gibsonburg, Patrick (Diana) of Milford, OH, Bill (Connie) of Gibsonburg, Steve (Kathy) of Cincinnati, Warren (Sherri) of Oregon, Andy of Gibsonburg, Phillip (Julie) of Cincinnati, Greg (Karen) of Maumee and Julie (Tab) Bickford of Gibsonburg; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Reed; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

Marcella is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Burkhart, her husbands Bill Burkhart and Herb Reinbolt, Loyola (James) Zeller, Rita (Thomas) Haley; brother-in-law, Jim Reed; grandchildren, Joshua Patrick and Kate Anne Kirwen; and former husband, Donald.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27th from 3-8 PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg with a Rosary to be held at 7 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 28th beginning at 10:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Saints Michael and Lawrence Cemetery.
