Marcella Cooley

Marcella “Marcy” Cooley, 68, of Fremont passed away in the afternoon of May 5, 2021, at home with her daughters by her side. She was born on March 16, 1953 to the late Vernon Hamilton and Irene Potter Held in Grundy, VA.

On February 17, 1973, she married Bryan Cooley at Hayes United Methodist Church. They shared 45 years together in marriage until his passing in 2018.

Marcy was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was a longtime member of the bell choir and the vocal choir, a greeter, and a Sunday school teacher. Many will remember her from working at the Fremont Ross Band Booster events and concession stand.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, often organized class reunions, and enjoyed scrolling through Facebook, listening to music, and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brandy (Jerry) Debolt of Ulrichsville, OH and Tiffany (Jenn) Cooley of Clyde; grandchildren, Haylea Marie, Eric Bryan, Matthew Paul & Jaxson Kane Debolt and Kaya Nicole & Cailin Brianne Thornbury; and siblings, Richard Hamilton of Green Springs, Deb Lance of Fremont, and TJ Held of Port Clinton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bryan; and siblings, Greg Hamilton and Fred Hamilton.

Visitation will be at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Saturday May 8th from 10-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 8th at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Matthew Wheeler will officiate.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice, or Another Chance Sanctuary.
