Loretta Jean Tolhurst, 69, of Fremont passed away on Thursday, June 5 in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side.
She was born on June 6, 1955 in Wyandot County to Eugene and Edna (Fatzinger) Armstrong. Loretta graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1975 and went on to attend Terra Technical College, obtaining a degree in graphic arts in 1977.
On July 2, 1977, she married David L. Tolhurst at St. Paul's Episcopal Church is Fremont, and have shared over 47 loving years together.
As a girl, Loretta enjoyed her time in 4H, and later gave her daughter the experience of taking care of horses as a project. She also enjoyed painting and crocheting, and especially gifting what she created to those she loved.
Loretta and David have also opened their hearts and home to many exchange students throughout the years.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David of Fremont; daughter, Michelle Tolhurst of Fremont; grandchildren, Nick Jurovcik, Asheton Lasher, and Louis Tolhurst; great-granddaughter, Nora Lee Jurovcik; mother, Edna Armstrong; and siblings, Bonnie Weininger, and Dan Armstrong.
Loretta is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Armstrong; and many aunts and uncles.
Memorial Services for Loretta will be held on Friday, June 13 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Fremont.
Donations in Loretta's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
