Larry W. Johns, 70, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1954 in Fremont a son to the late Charles W. "Bill" and Edith V. (Noffz) Johns.
Larry's first passion was playing high school football where he gained the nick name Panda for being a gentle giant that he carried throughout his life. He liked being on the cutting edge of new technologies in home entertainment from the latest stereo and television equipment to cameras and later drones.
Larry graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1972. He furthered his education at Toledo University and Terra Community College in Electrical Engineering. Larry went on to work as a CAD Engineer developing the manufacturing models to make head and tail lamps for Ford and later Toyota.
Through the years Larry's work took him from Fremont, Ohio to Canada and lastly Ann Arbor, Michigan. Being around the Great Lakes also provided him with many opportunities to go fishing with his friends on Lake Erie.
Surviving are his brother, Timothy (Christine) Johns of North Carolina; nephew, Ian (Kerry) Johns of Massachusetts; and niece, Aubrie (Dave) Sheaffer of North Carolina. He will be missed by good friends, Jan & Amy Buzan of Owosso, Michigan and Mark & Sue Jenkins of Oak Harbor, Ohio along with his many life sharing friends.
Thank you to the staff of Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking exceptional care of Larry and laughing with him during his stay.
There will be a celebration of life May 7th 2025 @ 3:00 pm at the Back Stage Lounge (220 S Front St, Fremont Ohio). May his cherished friendships live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
