Karl R. Hoffheins

Karl R. Hoffheins, 57 of Gibsonburg died on August 16, 2022 at St. Charles Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1965 to the late Donald E. Hoffheins and Karen (Myers) Johnson in Toledo.

A 1983 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Karl went on to receive a degree as an electrician and held multiple certificates such as a fiber optic certification and his Journeyman Card.

He was also known by many for owning his own slot car track, which he operated in Toledo for the last 30 years.

Karl enjoyed fishing and kayaking, but what brought him the most joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching their events. He was also a proud Detroit Lions fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his fiancee, Alice Johnson of Gibsonburg; children, Kiersten Thomasson of North Carolina, Alyson K. Oman of Gibsonburg, and Larry Johnson Jr.; grandchildren, Skyanne Oman, Esmeralda Oman, Aribella Oman, Celia Oman, Niccoal Oman, Lilly Jones, Makenna Johnson, Mason Johnson, Kaylynn Johnson, Neriah Johnson, and Collen Thomasson; stepmother, Jane Hoffheins; step-brother, Eric Johnson; and aunts, Judy (Tom) Wegmeyer and Pat Hoffheins-Kent.

Karl is preceded in death by his father, Donald Hoffheins; mother, Karen Johnson; and stepfather, Robert D. Johnson.

A time of visitation for Karl will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home.
