Josiah Mendez

Josiah Mendez, 19, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2020. He was born on November 30, 2001 in Fremont, Ohio to Mark Mendez and Monica Flores. He will be remembered for his loving and fun personality, how he enjoyed life, laughter, being with his friends and family, and being a loving uncle. Josiah was a hard worker and found pleasure in helping others with landscaping and construction projects. In his spare time, he liked to go for rides on his bike, skateboarding with his father and is favorite color was blue.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Monica Flores, father, Mark Mendez, step-father, Derrick Malone, siblings; Yesenia, Leticia, Luciano, Esmeralda, Carlito and Alicia Mendez, grandparents; Maria Jaime, Ofelia and Ramon Flores, nieces; Valencia and Alaia Mendez-Soto, and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Use of a mask is required to enter the building and wait times may occur outside due to social distancing restrictions. A Mass of Resurrection will be held privately for the family on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gibsonburg. The public is invited to the committal service at St. Lawrence & St. Michael Cemetery on CR 88 in Gibsonburg at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fr. Scott Woods will officiate.
