John P. Hoffman

John P. "Jack" Hoffman, 62, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born April 18, 1963 in Fremont, the son of James and Norma (Gabel) Hoffman.

A passionate golfer, John was more than just a player; he was a beloved organizer of local golf leagues, dedicating countless hours to ensuring that friends and fellow golfers experienced the joys of the game he adored. His commitment to the sport went beyond the greens-he created an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendly competition that will be forever cherished. Each year, he eagerly looked forward to the "Gabel Open," a  family reunion and golf outing, a highlight that he never missed.

John's interests extended to fantasy football, where he was known for his keen analytical skills and loyalty to his teams. He organized events, each season marked by laughter, friendly banter, and a sense of community. John had the ability to bring people together, creating bonds through shared passions.

Surviving is his mother, Norma Hoffman of Fremont; brothers: Jim (Kristi) Hoffman of Toledo; Bill (Linda) Hoffman of St. Mary's, PA; Mark Hoffman of Fremont, sister Connie (Rick) Doolittle of Santa Ynez, CA; nephews: Ben Hoffman, Nick Hoffman, Brett Hoffman, Drew Hoffman, Brian (Pernille) Hoffman, Adam (Desiree) Hoffman and niece Kiera Doolittle. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at Noon followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
