Joanne "JoJo" Jones

July 9, 1941 — July 8, 2022

Joanne "JoJo" Jones of Fremont died at home at the age of 80. An age that doctors never thought she would see. She achieved reaching 80 through persistence and perseverance.

JoJo was born July 9, 1941 to John and Hope (Williams) Albright. On December 27, 1958 she married the love of her life Clarence E. “Sonny” Jones. They were blessed with three daughters, and later in life got the sons they always wanted, after their daughters married. Surviving are Jody (Mark) Gutschalk, Laura (David) Frederick, and Jada (Craig) Jackson. She is also survived by three grandchildren who were the light of her life: Donald Frederick, Amanda (David) Deshisky, and Jacob (Brittany) Gutschalk. Her granddaughter, Callie Jackson (her angel) greeted her in heaven. She had the privilege to meet her six beautiful great grandchildren: Gwen, Josie, Ava, and George Gutschalk; Auggie and Jackson Deshisky. Also surviving is her sister, Marlene (Walter) Evans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, brother, Donn Albright, and sister, Darlene Garber.

JoJo was a domestic engineer along with being a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She gave many hours to the City of Fremont through her husband's work as a police officer and FOP. She was a big help in starting the school library at Stamm Elementary. She was known for her cookies and wicked sense of humor.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Burial will be private for the family at McGormley Cemetery.

Instead of spending money on donations and in lieu of flowers, consider spending more time with your family. This is what mom would have wanted.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and medical staffs that have helped JoJo over the years, especially Dr. Martin Beerman. A big thank you to the Heartland ProMedica Hospice nurses and aids for their help this past week.
