Joan Sachs

Joan Elaine Sachs, 96, of Fremont, Ohio passed peacefully into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 16th. She was the first child born to parents Kenneth M Damschroder and Mary E (Neason) Damschroder on August 17, 1928.

Joan was a sincerely devoted, endlessly caring and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. Her life was a model of giving and caring for others above herself. Joan graduated from Fremont Ross in 1946 and married Donald L Sachs (deceased) on her mother’s birthday April 25, 1948. 

She is survived by her three children Sandra L Wagner (husband Robert), Shari S DiPaolo (husband Pete) and Scott D Sachs (wife Diane). She had seven grandchildren (Kathy Jo, Kevin, Marc, Kara, Sarah, Cora and Wesley), six great grandchildren (Koby, Mason, Hayley, Shelby, Johnny and Elaine). Joan had siblings Kenneth Damschroder (deceased), Janet Shellhammer, John Damschroder (deceased) and James Damschroder.

The family thanks you for your prayers and we are endlessly thankful for God’s grace in her life and the blessing she was to all of us. 

Memorials may be directed to either Buckeye Hospice or Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont Ohio.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, June 21st at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home (900 North St., Fremont) with visitation one hour prior.
