Jim E. Turner, 77, of Fremont, passed away August 11, 2025, at Majestic Care of Clyde. He was born in Fremont on April 18, 1948, to Clayton and Beulah Mae (Homler) Turner.
On June 21, 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the USAREUR until he received an honorable discharge on July 17, 1969. During his service he was a bodyguard in Syria and Iraq, earned the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Rifle Badge, and the National Defense Medal.
Jim later found his calling as a truck driver, establishing himself as the proud owner-operator of his own long-haul trucking company. Beyond his professional life, Jim was a man of many passions. As an enthusiast of bull riding and weight lifting at the YMCA, Jim thrived in the thrill of challenge, finding joy in seeking new adventures and pushing his limits.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Linda Lou Dunfee, Jerry (Patricia) Turner, Terry Turner, Jeff (Kay) Turner, and John Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda Turner.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM with a service beginning at 1:00 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Pastor Matthew Wheeler will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at McGormley Cemetery.
