Jerry R. "Moe" Lance

Jerry Ray "Moe" Lance, 68, of Fremont, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 at Stein Hospice after a 3 year battle with cancer. Jerry was born March 21, 1957 in Fremont, the son of Lee and Helen Lance Windau.

Jerry was a 1975 graduate of Fremont Ross High and went on to join the United States Navy. He spent 4 years serving his country as a Navy Corps man stationed alongside the Marines in Okinawa, Japan and San Diego, CA. Upon his return from the military he went on to work for 50 years in the HVAC and Plumbing industry.

Jerry had a great love of fishing and golfing. He spent many hours on Lake Erie fishing. He especially enjoyed fishing for bluegill off the docks at the marina. He fed and named his backyard squirrels and birds. Jerry was a Michigan Wolverine and Cincinnati Reds fan.

Surviving is his wife Deborah (Held) Lance of Fremont; brother Scott (Paulette) Lance, sister Teresa (Brion) Combs; in-laws T.J. (Mary) Held, Richard Hamilton. numerous nieces and nephews and fur baby Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dennis and Larry and an infant sister Sherry.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 11 at Clyde V.F.W. (847 W. Maple Street Clyde, OH). Pastor Bruce Biggs will offer a eulogy at 2:30 followed by military honors.
