Jeffrey T. Herman, 63, lifelong resident of Gibsonburg, passed away on July 14, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 21,1963 to the late Edward H. Herman Jr. and Delores M. (Kruse) Herman.
Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. Following graduation, he completed the Paramedic Program at EHOVE Career Center, and 240 Fire Training shortly after. His passion was always to help others, and that was evident in the work he did. Jeff worked currently as a paramedic for North Central EMS and Harris-Elmore Fire Department/EMS. Previously, he worked for the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District for over 20 years, and was a Life Member of the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department.
On April 20, 2002, Jeff married Theresa Skilliter at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont, and together they have shared over 24 years of love and memories.
Jeff found his joy in being outdoors; specifically, watching the birds, feeding the deer, tending to his yard, and traveling. He also enjoyed discussing history, finance, politics, and any fire or EMS related topics. Those close to him will fondly remember his jokes, infectious positivity, and the love he had for his family, friends, and community.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Theresa; children, Jeffrey E.J. Herman and Haley A. (Owen Crews) Herman; sister, Patricia King; brother, Daniel (Sonia) Herman; sister-in-law, Brenda Fisher; nieces, Madison (Aaron) Novotny, and Elizabeth Fisher; nephews, Zackary Herman and Alex Fisher; as well as many beloved friends and colleagues.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Herman Jr. and Delores May Herman; in-laws, Willis and Iris Skilliter; infant brothers, Edward Herman III and Thomas Herman; and brother-in-law, Stan King.
Visitation for Jeff will be held on Sunday, July 19 from 4:00-8:00pm with a Fireman's Service beginning at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 20, beginning at 10:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Donations in Jeff's name may be made to The Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department; Harris-Elmore Fire Department; Allen-Clay Joint Fire District; the Humane Society of Sandusky County; or to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund.
Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg is honored to be assisting the Herman family during this very difficult time.
