Jean S. Brubaker

Jean S. (Dillow) Brubaker, 93, of Helena passed away in the early morning of December 10, 2020 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on February 2, 1927 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Walter and Margaret (Campbell) Dillow.

On September 12, 1944, Jean married Norman L. Brubaker. They shared 55 years together in marriage until his passing on January 7, 1999.

Jean ran a small business of mostly collecting, but also selling antiques. Going to auctions and shows with her daughters-in-law were highlights of her life, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed caring for her flowers and garden.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Danny Brubaker, Steven (Lori) Brubaker, Scott (Vicky) Brubaker, Robert (Maria) Brubaker, and Nathan (Beth) Brubaker; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son, Jeffrey Brubaker; daughter-in-law, Linda Brubaker; and siblings, Olive Boggs, Clyde Dillow, Britain Cooper, Juanita Haslinger, Ida Falls, Erma Fritz, and Sidney Dillow.   

Public visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13 at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg from 2:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM. Masks must be worn to enter the building, social distancing will be observed, and wait times may occur outside.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14 at Ole Zim’s Wagon Shed, 1375 N. OH-590, Gibsonburg, Ohio, at 10:00 AM, with a half hour of visiting prior to services. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. For those who cannot attend in person, Jean’s services will be live-streamed via Hermanfh.com under the Live-Webcasts Tab on the home page.
