Janice E. Abney

Janice E. Abney, 88 of Fremont died in the late evening of May 18, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1933 in Sandusky to the late Irvin and Florence (Schaub) Batch. Janice was a 1951 graduate of Huron High School. On October 3, 1953 she married Irvine Abney in Huron, OH and they shared 53 years together until his passing in 2007.

Janice was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and served with the Women of the Church. A loving homemaker, Janice raised two daughters and found great joy in being with her family. Her grandchildren will remember her always shining smile.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Abney of Fremont and Lori Sherman of Clyde; granddaughter, Jennifer Abney; grandson, Ryan Sherman; and sister, Barb (Harold) Daniels of Berea, OH.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Florence; husband, Irvine; sister, Norma Ruth Meeker; and brother, Duane I. Batch.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 26 from 5:00-7:30 PM with a time to share memories from 7:30-8:30 PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont. Services will be on Friday, May 27 at Faith Lutheran Church at 12:00 PM with visitation at church one hour prior to the services. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
