Janese L. Ried, 74 of Fremont passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Otterbein Assisted Living in Lakeside Marblehead.
She was born on August 12, 1948 to the late Glenn and Frieda (Hetrick) Ried.
A graduate of Fremont Ross, Janese went on to obtain a bachelors of Arts from Capital University, where she was a part of the Sisters of Zeta Pi Lambda, the chess club, women's government, and many Capital University Alumni groups. She worked for Green Bay Packaging for over 30 years, and was very proud of the seminars, courses, and educational material she had created for the company. She also previously sat on the Humane Society of Sandusky County board of directors.
Janese was an accomplished artist, having won multiple awards at the county fairs. Much of her original artwork can be found in historic homes throughout Fremont. She enjoyed photographing the Marblehead Lighthouse, and exhibited many pieces of abstract mixed media works. Her Lifelong Dream Accomplishment was owning her own art store, Buckland Arts, which she ran for many years.
Surviving are multiple nieces and nephews; and beloved cats, Jesse, Charlie, and Lil Bit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Frieda; nephew, Eric Ried; and brother, Stefan Ried.
Janese would like to personally thank Hospice for their impeccable care and her very dear friends for their love and support.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 11 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fremont from 10:00-11:00 AM, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Janese's name may be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, or to the donor's choice.
