Jane A. Stout

Jane A. Stout, 78, of Fremont passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026. She was born in Bellevue on April 24, 1947 the daughter of Clifford A. and A. Joanne (Connors) Hammersmith.

Jane was a 1965 Bellevue Sr. High School graduate. She continued her education at Heidelburg University. She was the Ballville Township Zoning Inspector, and dedicated many years to the township before retiring in 2009.

Jane was known for her love of Jesus, her family and her cats, Skippy and Hero. She enjoyed knitting, biking, swimming and shopping online.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Craig (Stephanie) Bogner of Sylvania, Nathan Stout of Norwalk; grandchildren, Seth, Sean and Kaitlyn; Aaron and Luke Bogner; and siblings, Carol Besse, Mark Hammersmith, James (Sue) Hammersmith, Aaron (Sally) Hammersmith, Mary Lynn Posey, and Paul (Renee) Hammersmith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Stout; son, Jake Bogner; and grandson, Zachary Bogner.

Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm with Funeral Services beginning at noon. Followed by a Committal Service will follow at the Mausoleum in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to Sandusky County Humane Society.
