James M. Murray

James M. Murray, 80, of Fremont passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Parkview Care Center. He was born November 22, 1940 in Flat Rock, MI the son of Oliver and Alice (Hoffman) Murray. On October 16, 1999 he married Joann (Butzier) Murray at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Millersville, OH. Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was a communion distributor in church and to the homebound. Surviving is his wife Joann of Fremont; children: Kenneth (Susie) Draper, Mark (Robin) Murray, Lisa (Adam) Wharton, Tina (Paul) Kessler; 10 grandchildren; great-grandchildren Kyle and Pandora; siblings Betty Sherrick of Elida, OH; John Murray of Kenton, OH; Bev Ulrich and Ruth (Richard) Barton both of Huntington, IN; Tim (Diane) Murray of Friendsville, PA. He was preceded in death by siblings William, Patrick, Margarite, Phillip, Dorothy, Kathleen and Ollie. Visitation will take place beginning at 9:30 A.M Monday, September 27, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A funeral mass will begin at the church at 11:30 A.M. Fr. Mark Herzog will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with military graveside rights performed by the V.F.W. and American Legion. The family asks that all entendees wear face masks in respect of elderly attendees. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Promedica Heartland Hospice.
