James Alan Deininger, 63 of Gibsonburg, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 17, 2021, at his home. He was born May 22, 1958, in Fremont to the late Evanlee and Elsie (Damschroder) Deininger. In 2005 he married Brenda Wightman, and she survives.
James's passion was to fly, and he attended Flying Farmers events where he received awards for his airplanes. He enjoyed family cruises, traveling, and playing recreational basketball and softball. For over 40 years, he farmed with his father on their family farm. He loved to be with his family and friends and his bright smile and vibrant energy brought joy to all those around him. Most importantly, he was so proud of his son and daughter, always being there for their events.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda; son, Zack A. Deininger of Columbia, SC; daughter, Samantha E. Deininger of Gibsonburg, OH; brothers Daniel (Valerie) Deininger of Helena, MT, Thomas Deininger of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Paul (Cathy) Deininger of Summerfield, FL.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Evanlee and Elsie.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 23 with visitation held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery Gibsonburg.
Memorial contributions in James's name may be made to Stein Hospice.
