Jacqueline R. Aldrich, 89, of Gibsonburg passed away on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at Serenity Lanes in the Windsor Lane Health Care Center, Gibsonburg.

Jackie was born on August 9,1934 in Toledo, as the only child to the late Ruth (English) and Robert Dalzell. She was raised in Fremont by her grandparents, the late Edith and Lawrence English, and Aunts Phyllis Houtz, Audrey Brooks and Gladys Myer after her mother passed when she was four. Jackie was a 1952 graduate of Fremont Ross.

On August 2,1952, she married Jim L. Aldrich in Gibsonburg. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2023.

For 34 plus years she drove school bus for the Gibsonburg Exempted Village Schools. She also totally enjoyed driving the band and the girls' soft ball teams. If you knew Jackie, you knew she could never sit still for very long. Even as a child she was known to climb out her bedroom window and run down to play baseball with the neighborhood kids.

Besides driving school bus and helping with the concession stand, you could find Jackie running her own house cleaning business, working at Beeker Imaging or behind the deli at Kirwen's Market.

Jackie was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg and the Welker-Smith Post #17 American Legion Auxiliary.

Jackie is survived by her children, Jeff (Barb), Joel (fiancée Vicki) of Gibsonburg, Jenifer of Fremont, Jon (Melissa) of Tiffin, Jim (Lana) of Woodville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jason, Marcie, Jeff II, Jaclyn, Antonio, Jimmie III, Rachel, Brittany and Aiden; and 5 great-grandchildren, Isiah, Nolan, Avion, Julius and Easton; Aldrich in-laws, Ginny Moll, Paula and Scott Pertner, Nori Aldrich, Paul Aldrich and Clair and Sharon Aldrich, cousin Shari Houtz and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to First English Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg or Heartland Hospice.
