Guadalupe “Lupe” Avalos, 86, of Fremont passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025. She was born on Feb. 8, 1939, in La Barranca, Mexico to the late Pedro and Victoria (Martinez) Valdez.
She married Aniceto “Chet” Avalos on Sept. 4, 1954, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont. Through almost 71 years together, they enjoyed traveling in their RV and partaking in many adventures including national parks, prospecting in Arkansas for diamonds, gambling, fishing, camping, and boating.
Lupe worked for Crescent Manufacturing for many years. In her free time, she liked to make jewelry, crochet, and paint ceramics.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 71 years; children Maria Ranker, Dennis Avalos, and Jamie Avalos; grandchildren: Aaron and Matthew Ranker, Mellanie, Monica and Jerry Avalos, and Sierra and Megie Avalos; and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Avalos; and all her siblings.
Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at 10 AM.
Memorials in honor of Lupe may be made to Heartland Hospice.
