Gloria Bracken

Gloria Roberta Bracken, 67, of Gibsonburg, OH passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital. She was born July 24, 1953 in Fremont, OH the daughter of Robert L. and Gloria J. (Callihan) Popp.

Gloria was a 1971 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. She was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany during Vietnam.  After returning from the service she attended Owens Community College and ultimately obtained her Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Findlay. Gloria worked for the state and federal IRS.

On June 18, 1988 she married Frank Bracken at Christ United Methodist Church Oregon. Gloria was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church serving as secretary and in the Women’s group. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a volunteer for Friends of Maumee Bay State Park, a NW Ohio Miata Club member and was involved with Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Together with Frank and her family she enjoyed camping trips, cruising to Alaska and the Bahamas, crafts, bicycling, dolphin watching and walking with her friend Joyce.

Surviving are her husband Frank and son Richard Bracken; sister Julia Popp and brother Larry Popp all of Gibsonburg and sister Patricia (Grove) Rinehart of Mt. Gilead, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Victory Center or Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will take place at 10:00A.M. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Gibsonburg Faith United Methodist Church, 795 W.  Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH where funeral services will begin at 11:00A.M. with Pastor Nick Blausey officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery with military graveside rights performed by the V.F.W. and American Legion.
