Georgia L. Pertner, 91 of Gibsonburg passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
She was born on August 31, 1930, to the late Leo and Eda (Bauer) Foos
On July 8, 1950, she married Harley J. Pertner at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gibsonburg and spent 54 years together in marriage before his passing in 2005.
Georgia was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, and golfing in her spare time. She also shared her love of crocheting and knitting by making afghans for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Paula) Pertner, Becky Binkley, Susie (John) Bricker, Nancy (Kevin) Balduf, Sandy (Brian) Stevenson all of Gibsonburg, William (Moriah) Pertner of Paola, KS; along with 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Harley; and siblings, Agnes Holland, Clara Elizabeth Harshman, Emma Rose Reinbolt, John Foos, Patricia Ward, James Foos, Charles Foos, Rita Schlea, Mary Gillow, Madonna Mathews, Ursula Jane Nowak, and Edith Munson.
A time of visitation will be private for the family, with a Funeral Mass held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Woods officiating. The family requests that all guests wear a mask during mass. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
Donations in Georgia’s name may be made to ProMedica Hospice, St. Michael Catholic Church, or the Gibsonburg Branch of the Birchard Public Library.
